The Five TDs Tier List Hub explains how we rank Five Nights TD 2 units and enchants, then routes you into the detailed pages. Hyper TD’s balance patches and seasonal banners move names around, but the ranking philosophy stays stable: Meta means you build around it, S means excellent in the right board, A means strong fillers and flex picks, and B/C means situational or early-game only. Use this hub together with Best Teams, Enchantments, and mode guides so a letter rank never replaces context.
How to read Meta vs S / A / B
Meta — The small set of units that define current high-level boards. As of the September 2026 community snapshot featured on this wiki: Headless Horseman Mangle, Dreadbear, Purple Guy, and Mangle. If you are pitying or feeding, these names come first unless a brand-new patch just dethroned them.
S tier — Excellent units that slot beside meta cores or temporarily replace them under bans. Examples include Scarecrow Freddy, Slasher Bonnie, Party Glock Freddy, Party Packer Cupcake, Golden Freddy, Withered Freddy, and Endo 02. Missing a Meta pull does not block progress if your S-tier pieces are fed and enchanted.
A tier — Very good mid and flex options: Shadow Freddy, Withered Foxy, Endo 01, Jack-O Bonnie, Toy Chica, Cupcake, JJ, Balloon Boy, Fazcade, and similar. Fazcade’s farm role can be “A on the DPS chart” while still being mandatory in Endless — role matters more than vanity lettering.
B / C tier — Early Toys, common Withered fillers, and situational tools. They clear Getting Started content and teach How to Play habits. Do not dump late-game Souls into perfect enchants on units you will bench next week.

Start with Best Units if you are deciding what to summon or feed. Start with Enchants if your roster is already set and Souls are burning a hole in your inventory.
Ranking criteria we use
- Power in current modes — Story clear speed, Endless wave potential, and Ranked PvP win contribution are weighted separately in the Best Units page.
- Cost to field — Placement cost, upgrade curve, and whether the unit needs rare enchants to function.
- Flex and ban resistance — PvP value rises when a unit remains useful after the obvious Meta ban.
- Support and farm value — Non-DPS units are ranked by how much they enable the rest of the board, not by personal damage sheets alone.
- Accessibility — A unit that only exists on a expired event banner is noted as limited even if mechanically Meta.
How to use ranks without coping
Letter tiers are planning tools. An A-tier Toy Chica with Range III and correct placement beats an unupgraded Meta unit parked out of range. Always pair this hub with placement advice in How to Play and comps in Best Teams. For Endless farm paths, read Endless Mode; for trophy climbing, read PvP.
When a patch lands, re-open Best Units first, then adjust enchant targets. Do not reroll every Workshop slot the night a single number changes — confirm the unit still belongs on your board.
