Trading is how many Five Nights TD 2 players finish a roster without waiting months for a single Apex pull. Souls (and sometimes Tokens or presents) move between inventories when units change hands. This guide teaches a values mindset—not a frozen price sheet—so you can adapt when Hyper TD drops a new banner and community lists shift overnight. Cross-check unit roles on the roster overview and meta strength on the tier list before you overpay for a pretty shiny that never leaves your storage.

Value is not the same as rarity

A Nightmare on the current banner is often worth less than an older Secret that left the summon pool. Apex units still obtainable for Tokens may drift down as supply rises, while limited event exclusives can climb after the shop closes. Always ask:

1. Can players still pull or buy it easily? Ongoing supply lowers value.
2. Is it meta right now? Tier-list spikes create temporary demand.
3. Is it shiny? Shinies can multiply value by huge factors—sometimes tens or hundreds of times the base copy.
4. Are enchants and levels priced in? Many public lists quote base units only; a max-fed, rare-enchant shiny may deserve a premium the sheet ignores.

Treat every online list as a guide, not a law. Marketplace chatter can be artificially inflated after updates. If two trusted lists disagree, average them and bias toward the side that matches recent Discord / in-game completed trades you can verify.

Demand beats raw sheet numbers

Demand measures how many players actively want the unit this week. High demand with medium sheet value often trades faster (and sometimes higher) than a high sheet value nobody is buying. Seasonal hype, YouTube showcases, and new evolution recipes can push demand without an immediate list update.

Low-demand bulk Uncommons and Rares are usually food or craft fodder. Do not pad a trade with twenty worthless copies and call it fair—experienced traders discount junk hard.

Shiny premium

Almost every non-Hero unit can roll shiny on obtain (commonly around a 2% chance, better with Shiny Hunter). Shinies keep the combat identity but become the main wealth store of FNTD 2. Before offering or accepting:

• Confirm the unit is actually shiny in the trade window (scammers may show a shiny screenshot of a different copy).
• Compare shiny vs non-shiny rows on your preferred value list.
• Remember Heroes are generally not shiny / tradable—do not expect to buy Golden Freddy–style Heroes off players.

If you pull a shiny of a unit you already use, consider keeping the shiny for combat and trading the normal copy—or the reverse if the shiny premium funds three other roster gaps.

Event exclusives and limited windows

Event, lobby, Robux, and bi-weekly exclusives often become trade anchors after they leave circulation. During the event they may feel “common”; two weeks later the same Nightmare exclusive can jump. Strategy tips:

• Keep at least one combat copy if the unit is strong on the roster and current tier list.
• Extra shinies of ended exclusives are prime trade chips.
• Presents and unopened event boxes can hold speculative value—but only if you understand open rates; otherwise open what you need for progression.

Safe trading habits (read this twice)

Scams exist in every Roblox trading ecosystem. Protect yourself:

• Never go first with strangers. Use the official in-game trade system so both sides confirm simultaneously. Anyone asking you to drop items “as trust” outside the trade UI is running a script.
• Middleman caution. Only use middlemen vouched by large community staff channels you trust—and even then prefer the built-in trade when possible. Fake middleman accounts clone staff names.
• Check the exact unit. Rarity, shiny status, enchant, and level must match the deal. Similar names (multiple Mangle variants, Endo lines, seasonal skins) are classic bait-and-switch tools.
• Screenshot the offer before confirming if the deal is large.
• Ignore rushed pressure. “Spot ends in 30 seconds” is a classic urgency scam.
• Account safety. Do not share passwords, Roblox security codes, or “check value” links that ask you to log in.

Completing legitimate trades can also contribute small Faz-Rating quest progress on some daily tracks—another reason to use the real trade feature instead of risky side deals.

How to check official and community lists

1. Open your usual FNTD 2 value list or calculator (community-maintained sheets update more often than wikis).
2. Find both sides of the trade; sum mid-range values.
3. Adjust for demand, shiny status, and whether the unit is still summonable.
4. Cross-check combat usefulness on the roster and tier list so you do not sell your only Endless carry for souls you cannot spend well.
5. If the deal is within ~10% and both sides need the units, it is usually fine. Huge “win” offers aimed at new players deserve extra scrutiny.

This wiki does not publish live soul prices—they change too fast—but the mindset above keeps you from panic-selling Apex shinies the week before a nerf or overpaying for last season’s dead exclusive.

When you should not trade

• You still lack a usable starter and DPS for story (summon and feed first—see the Units Hub).
• The trade would leave you without a farm option before a planned Endless push.
• You do not understand the unit’s role.
• The other party refuses the official trade window.

Progression first, flex inventory second. Tokens from codes and playtime often close early gaps faster than risky marketplace gambles.

Quick checklist before you confirm

• Both sides use the in-game trade UI
• Shiny / enchant / level verified
• Values checked on a recent list
• Demand and banner status considered
• You still keep a playable team after the trade
• No off-platform “go first” requests
